Dairy

Twice-daily CIP at 80 °C caustic, then live steam. EPDM seats and a 0.8 µm internal finish that will not hold milkstone in the seat groove.

Brewing

Wort at 100 °C one hour, caustic the next, and CO₂ pressure in between. Butterfly and mixproof valves that hold a seal through the whole cycle.

Beverage

Acidic product, sugar deposits, and a fill line that cannot stop. Seats specified for pH and for the abrasion sugar carries, not just for temperature.

Food processing

Fats and oils that swell EPDM. FKM seats, drainable bodies, and no crevice where a slurry can sit between shifts.

Cosmetics

Viscous batches, frequent product changeover, and solvent cleaning between them. PTFE seats and a finish that releases rather than holds.

Pharmaceutical

WFI and clean steam, SIP at 121 °C, and a surface finish that has to be evidenced. Ra measured on our own instrument and recorded against the order.
